Everyone has some anxiety, but children have more. And, children with special needs, due to processing or developmental difficulties, often times have still more anxiety. Developing a parenting communication and problem solving style that decreased anxiety was one of the key things I did as a foster parent for the diverse group of youth who went through treatment care in my home. Children want to be understood, and parents want to understand. But, sometimes the day to day problems that need to be solved get in the way of a good parent/child bond and understanding. This class will give parents skills they need to become more predictable parents so that everyone's anxiety can decrease and understanding increases.
